Running Between Raindrops

This week has been filled with wonderful rain, it seems like almost every day we have gotten some storm or another. The plants are loving the deep watering all of the recent storms have offered and are growing with remarkable speed. During my farm walk this morning I was delighted to see the very first tiny green tomatoes forming, a happy reminder of all the treats summer has in store for us.

This week only pick up will be from 2-5:30 instead of 6. Due to the chance of rain all day on Friday I will be stationed on the porch again this week to keep all of the veggies (and farmer) safe from the rain.

This week in your share you have the option of Sorrel as your herb. Sorrel is an old world herb that has been a staple in Baltic and Russian cuisine for centuries and is one of my favorite specialty herbs. It has a bright lemon-y flavor that lends it’s self to many summer times dishes, try it with fish, chopped fine in salad, or even in soup!

See you on Friday!
