Garlic, Garlic Everywhere
This weekend is the Mystic Garlic Festival! I have been looking forward to the garlic festival all summer, and the weather looks like it will be perfect. last night I finished making over 20 garlic braids to sell alongside the other heirloom garlic, shallots, onions and more. If you are looking for our booth at the festival we are right next to “Sticky Situations” in Olde Mystic Village, I hope to see you there!
One of my favorite parts of fall on the farm is putting together our annual bulb order. Every year I try to add more perennial flowers that will go into next seasons market bouquets. Last year my focus was globe alliums, this year I am adding lilies! Currently I have a small patch of beautifully scented white Easter lilies and I have been trying to whittle down my choices form the dozens of options. I am leaning towards some bright pink varieties.
We also have a new exciting project in the works. We are in the beginning stages of building more greenhouse space! Our hope is to have them up before the snow flies. More greenhouse space would allow us to grow so much more produce, and much earlier in the season. I will make sure to post up dates as we make progress.
See you on Friday!
