Weather Is A Weird Thing

This week has been one of the coldest in memory, because of this the tomatoes have been very slow to ripen. However the plants are loaded with beautiful green fruit, and with a heatwave coming in the next week or so the tomatoes should take off like a shot! With over 200 hundred plants spanning 14 heirloom varieties there are so many delicious ways to enjoy tomatoes to look forward to.

Also this week we seeded another wave of veggies that will be ready in time for late summer / early fall. Some of the varieties that are on the way are snow peas, golden turnips and salad greens. With more favorite on the way like radishes, cabbage, parsnips and beans!

One of the herbs in this weeks pick up is pineapple sage. Pineapple sage has an amazing tropical floral flavor, this lends it to tasty teas, herbal baked goods, or even homemade potpourri. If you would like to dry your pineapple sage for later use just hang it upside down out of direct sunlight and it will dry over the course of a week or so.

See you all on Friday!
